Waiver Policy
Requirement
All participants must sign a liability waiver before their first session. No exceptions — no waiver, no play. This protects you and us.
Minors
A parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver on behalf of anyone under 18.
What it covers
Assumption of risk, release of liability, and medical acknowledgment. Standard for all recreational sports sessions.
How it works
Waivers are built into the online signup process. You'll sign digitally on your phone or computer during registration. A PDF copy is emailed to you automatically.
All sessions
Waivers are required for every session: classes, clinics, camps, tournaments, private lessons, social outings, leagues, and adaptive sessions.
Facility use
Family Pickleball by Coach Tobin uses both private and public courts. Sessions held at public facilities are subject to the terms and conditions set by the respective municipalities. By participating, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
City of Irvine
IN CONSIDERATION of accepting this registration to participate in any way in the calendar year 2026, and to the extent permitted by law, I hereby agree to release, indemnify, defend and hold harmless on behalf of myself (and any minor children for whom I have the capacity to contract) the City of Irvine and its officers, clients, agents, contractors, instructors, authorized volunteers, and employees from and against any and all liabilities, claims, penalties, losses, or expenses (including attorneys' fees), of any kind or nature whatsoever, whether related personal injury, death, communicable diseases, illnesses, viruses, property damage or any other form of injury or loss to myself (and to any minor children for whom I have the capacity to contract), caused by any negligent act or omission of the City of Irvine or its officers, clients, agents, contractors, instructors, authorized volunteers, or employees, arising out of or in any way related to participation in the activity/activities for which I (and any minor children for whom I have the capacity to contract) register to participate in any way in the calendar year 2026. I acknowledge that the activity/activities to which this release applies can be dangerous and can expose me (and to any minor children for whom I have the capacity to contract) to risks of personal injury, death, communicable diseases, illnesses, viruses, and property damage, and as a result of signing below, I am accepting those risks for myself and for any minor participants for whom I can contract. I give permission to the City of Irvine to take photographs of me or my children while participating in this activity/activities for use in future City publicity and understand that I will not receive any compensation for such use.
City of Tustin
The undersigned has read and on behalf of the Licensee agrees to be bound by this Permit/License and the Terms and Conditions contained herein and attached hereto, and hereby warrants and represents that he/she executes this Permit/License on behalf of the Licensee and has sufficient power, authority and capacity to bind the Licensee with his/her signature. I agree to protect, indemnify and hold harmless the City of Tustin, Tustin Unified School, and their officers, agents, and employees from all loss, damage, and claims, liability, or claims resulting from their programs or rentals. In case of an accident or other emergencies, personnel of the City of Tustin and/or its Parks and Recreation Department is hereby authorized to secure medical attention for the participant.
Cancellation Policy
Client cancellations
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel a session. Life happens — we understand. Just let us know as early as you can.
Late cancellations & no-shows
Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice or no-shows may result in a forfeited session or lost credit. We keep our groups small, and your spot matters.
Coach cancellations
If Coach Tobin needs to cancel, you'll be notified as soon as possible via text or email. You'll receive a makeup session or credit — always.
Refunds
Refund policies vary by session type. Contact us to discuss your specific situation — we'll always try to be fair.
Weather Policy
We play outdoors
Our sessions are held at public courts in Irvine. That means weather is a factor — but we have clear guidelines so you always know what to expect.
Rain
If rain is expected, we'll make the call as early as possible and notify you via text or email. Light drizzle may not stop us, but player safety always comes first.
Extreme heat
On very hot days, we may shorten sessions, add extra water breaks, or reschedule to a cooler time. Your health matters more than any drill.
Makeup sessions
Weather cancellations always receive a makeup session or credit. You'll never lose a session to something outside your control.
Payment Policy
When payment is due
Payment is due before your first session. For packages and camps, full payment is required at registration unless otherwise arranged.
Accepted methods
We accept credit/debit cards via Stripe through the website. Additional payment methods may be available — ask us.
Packages
Multi-session packages offer the best value. Details and pricing are available on each session page.
Code of Conduct
For all players
Respect the coach, other players, and yourself. Be on time — sessions start on schedule. Listen to instructions. No paddle throwing, cursing, or unsportsmanlike behavior. Clean up after yourself. Stay hydrated. If you're injured, uncomfortable, or need a break — speak up.
For parents of juniors
We welcome you to watch from the sideline. Please support all players equally, keep feedback positive, and let the coach run the session. Drop-off and pick-up should be punctual.
Violations
First-time issues are handled with a private conversation. Repeated or severe violations may result in suspension from the community. We keep our community safe and respectful — for everyone.
Privacy Policy
What we collect
When you register on familypickleball.org, we collect your full name, email address, and cell phone number. This information is used to manage your account, send session-related communications, and provide coaching services.
How we use your information
Your information is used exclusively for Family Pickleball operations: booking confirmations, session reminders, package balance notifications, waiver management, and account updates. We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties.
SMS and email communications
By providing your cell phone number during checkout, you consent to receive SMS messages related to your sessions and account. These include session reminders, booking confirmations, and package updates. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Email communications include confirmations, reminders, and account-related updates.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Email addresses and phone numbers are hashed for privacy. We use Supabase for data storage, Stripe for payment processing, and Resend for email delivery. Your payment information is handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers.
Photography and media consent
By participating in Family Pickleball sessions, you give permission to Family Pickleball to take photographs and video of you or your children while participating in sessions and events for use in future marketing, social media, website content, and promotional materials, and understand that you will not receive any compensation for such use. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify Coach Tobin before your session.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting Coach Tobin at tobin@familypickleball.org or (949) 339-4077. You may also withdraw your photography and media consent at any time by notifying Coach Tobin in writing.
Terms & Conditions
Services
Family Pickleball provides pickleball coaching services including classes, clinics, camps, private lessons, drill sessions, and social play events in Irvine, CA. All services are subject to availability and may be modified or cancelled at Coach Tobin's discretion.
Registration and payment
By registering for a session or package on familypickleball.org, you agree to pay the listed price at the time of purchase. Payment is due before your first session unless otherwise arranged. Accepted methods include Venmo, Zelle, credit/debit card, and RCOC billing.
Waiver requirement
A signed liability waiver is required before participating in any session. By registering, you acknowledge that pickleball is a physical activity with inherent risks, and you accept responsibility for your own safety. For minors, a parent or legal guardian must sign.
Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation and refund policies are outlined in our Cancellation Policy above. By purchasing a session or package, you agree to those terms.
SMS consent
By providing your cell phone number during registration, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from Family Pickleball, including session reminders, booking confirmations, and package balance notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for assistance.
Intellectual property
All content on familypickleball.org — including text, images, logos, and design — is the property of Family Pickleball and may not be reproduced without permission.
Limitation of liability
Family Pickleball is not liable for injuries sustained during sessions beyond what is covered by the signed liability waiver. Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.
Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
