Meet Coach Tobin.

The person behind the paddle — and the mission to make pickleball accessible to everyone.

Elevate your game by breaking boundaries

How it started

When Coach Tobin discovered pickleball, he knew immediately — this was something everyone deserved to experience. The simplicity of the game, the instant community, the way a complete beginner could rally with a seasoned player — it all clicked.

What started as a personal passion quickly became a mission: bring the joy of pickleball to as many people as possible, and let nothing stand in the way.

What drives us

Family Pickleball exists to help people overcome barriers of all types — age, ability, experience, confidence — so nothing stands between you and the game. Based in Irvine, California, Coach Tobin works with juniors, adults, seniors, and families, meeting every player exactly where they are.

Breaking boundaries

Over four years, Coach Tobin has developed adaptive coaching programs for players with special needs and developmental disabilities. The results speak for themselves: individuals who had never held a paddle are now playing complete games, keeping score, and competing with confidence.

This isn't a side project or an afterthought. Adaptive coaching is a core part of who Family Pickleball is — and a reflection of the belief that the game belongs to everyone.

Community beyond the court

Through the Ambassador Program, Coach Tobin extends the Family Pickleball community beyond his own sessions. Appointed ambassadors host local round robins and social play events, keeping the spirit of the game alive across Irvine and beyond.

What we believe

Everyone plays

No barriers. No gatekeeping. If you want to play, we'll find a way to get you on the court.

Patience is the method

We meet every player where they are — not where we think they should be. Progress happens at your pace.

Community first

We're building something bigger than a business. This is a family — connected by the game and the joy it brings.
