Ambassador Playbook

How the program runs, what we hand to you, what you bring, and what to expect along the way.

The role

Being a Family Pickleball Ambassador means you host social play under the FPB banner. You bring the court, the welcome, and the local know-how. Family Pickleball brings the registration system, the payment processing, the waivers, and the back-end support. Together, that adds up to events that feel personal but run like clockwork.

You're not a coach. You're not a referee. You're a host — the person who knows the gate code, who waves the new player over, who makes sure no one's standing alone on the sideline.

What FPB provides

  • A registration page for every event you create, accessible from your public ambassador profile and shareable anywhere.
  • Payment processing through Stripe — players pay online, money flows through Family Pickleball, you don't handle cash.
  • Digital waivers signed before any player steps on the court.
  • A marketing surface — your profile on familypickleball.org, listed alongside other ambassadors and visible to anyone searching for play.
  • A follower system so players who like your events get notified when you schedule the next one.
  • Branded gear — paddle covers, hats, and shirts so you look the part.
  • Direct support — when something's unclear, text Coach Tobin. That's the whole support process.

What the ambassador provides

  • Court access — secured, scheduled, and confirmed before you list the event.
  • Reasonable timing — pick slots that genuinely work for you, not stretches you'll resent.
  • Hospitality — greet every player, make introductions, run a fair rotation if it's a round robin.
  • Local communication — invite your circle, post in your HOA group, share the event link where it'll find people.
  • Honest feedback to FPB — if a court rule changes, a player issue comes up, or something about the system isn't working, say so.

Expectations and standards

Safety. No event runs without signed waivers. If a player gets hurt, you stop play, you call for help if needed, and you tell Coach Tobin the same day.

Inclusivity.Every player who registers belongs at your event. Skill level, age, background, ability — none of it disqualifies anyone. If you set a skill range, hold the line, but hold it kindly.

Communication.Reply to player questions within a day. If an event needs to be cancelled, give as much notice as you reasonably can and let FPB handle refunds.

Frequency. There's no quota, but ambassadors who post one to four events a month tend to build the strongest following. Going dark for months without a heads-up is the one pattern that ends ambassadorships.

Representation. When you're hosting under the FPB banner, you're carrying the brand. The voice is warm, welcoming, never intimidating — same as everything else we do.

Recognition and perks

Draft

We're keeping this small and meaningful rather than transactional:

  • Branded gear — a starter kit on approval (paddle cover, hat, shirt), with seasonal refreshes.
  • Recognition on the website — your name and photo featured on the public ambassador list.
  • Priority comp spots — first dibs on a small number of free seats in clinics and special events.
  • Seasonal appreciation gathering — once or twice a year, all ambassadors come together for a meal and a play session on FPB.
  • Direct line to Coach Tobin — your text goes to the top of the pile.

These are the starting perks. As the program grows, so will the program of appreciation.

When in doubt, text Coach Tobin
